Description
For complex roll-outs of new solutions, processes or systems, choosing the right roll-out or transition approach is critical. Therefore, it is important to teach your project owner, management and steering committee of available system go-live approaches before settling on the best one for your project. Use this tool for that and remember that it is helpful to consider advantages and disadvantages associated with each approach in your specific project. Generally, big bang implementations are considered much riskier than phased implementations. However, the main disadvantages of phased implementations are the potential need for temporary setups where some users still use one system and other users use another system. This adds complexity to the roll-out which usually also take longer in a phased approach.
