Product Definition
In PRINCE2™ terminology, a Product Definition (or description) must be created for all the products in the project as part of the planning activities. This template is a simple PowerPoint format that works well for smaller projects.

Description
Explicitly defining the project’s product characteristics during the planning phase is a way to ensure that sufficient detailed planning is done and scope-related risks are minimized. This template contains by default the following fields: Product ID, Purpose, Deliverables, Format and extent, Product Owner, Reviewer, Ap-prover. These fields can be changed to match relevant requirements in your project. Please also note that format and extent category here covers all quality-related areas such as Quality Criteria, Quality Tolerance, Quality Method, Quality Skills and Quality Responsibilities
